As a Certified Impact Philanthropy Adviser, I draw on 25 years of experience and a trusted network to help people shape their giving journey. I introduce them to specialists, and their peers, who can amplify their impact.
Early in my career I led a small team under the vision of a Goodwill Ambassador to Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund at Whatever It Takes, generating over $100 million in royalties to date for a wide range of charities. Since then, I have built a multifaceted portfolio of work spanning small and large charities, three grantmaking foundations, individual philanthropists and entrepreneurs – with topics ranging from disability to climate change. I later worked in the asset management industry on fund management, and then full-time as Senior Grants Manager for a client’s Foundation at Rathbones.
In 2013, I completed my MSc dissertation, an investigation into the relationship between high-net-worth individuals, their wealth advisers and philanthropy. The finding was stark: there was no relationship at all. The wealth management industry’s response to my question was “Where is my financial compensation for having those conversations?”
That gap has stayed with me ever since. Since 2023, I have been building working relationships with individuals who want this service, and advisers who don’t know how to respond. I am now working with them to bring purpose into practice.
Wealth can do more than grow. It can solve problems, support communities and shape a better future. I thrive when I’m supporting other people who want to make positive changes happen. The most rewarding philanthropy is rooted in authenticity – when your giving reflects who you are. I believe everyone has the capacity to make a difference. The question is simply where to start.
As the Aesop quote I carry with me says: “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
Money and purpose are no longer mutually exclusive. They are interdependent. My work is about helping individuals, families and advisers bring that understanding to life in ways that are practical, lasting and genuinely impactful.
I work across the full philanthropy landscape: with individuals and families taking their first steps in giving; with wealth advisers and firms who need the tools and confidence to serve a changing client base; and with foundations and philanthropic organisations navigating complex questions of strategy, governance and impact.
For nearly 25 years, I have supported UHNWIs, foundations, charities, socially-driven entrepreneurs and the private sector in navigating the growing shift towards values-led and purpose-driven wealth.
What clients value most is having a trusted space to think before making important decisions. By asking thoughtful questions and opening the door to a wide range of ideas and opportunities, I help people discover an approach to philanthropy that is both meaningful and deeply personal.
